Tips & tricks

Stain treatment

  • Don't let stains dry in. Dried stains are difficult to remove.

  • Never iron before the stains are completely removed.

  • Ink, fruit, coffee, tea, or chocolate: dab these with alcohol or ammonia and rinse with clear water.

  • Fats: gently dab with stain remover or ammonia and rinse with clear water.

  • Wine: rinse with warm water and immediately wash out the stain. Don't sprinkle salt on the stain, as salt damages the fibers. Use white wine rather than salt to remove red wine stains.

  • Sunscreen: Sunscreen stains often have a specific color and are greasy. To remove these stains, it is best to use a liquid detergent or gel. If dealing with large grease stains, it's best to use a pre-treatment stain remover.

  • Blood: If you're dealing with stubborn blood stains, you'll need to soak the stains in cold water first. After rinsing, wash with a biological pre-wash detergent at a maximum of 35°C and wash as indicated on the label. Never iron if the stain is not completely removed.

  • Avoid mixing different chemical products, as they may react with each other.

If you use a stain remover:

  • Adequate ventilation is a must.
  • Keep the products out of reach of children.
  • Work in multiple steps if necessary; you can repeat the treatment if needed.
  • Protect your eyes and skin.
